An ethnic Tibetan born in Nepal, Nagwang arrived in the U.S. in 2007. Previously he had never heard the sound of the violin, the instrument he chose to study at Mozart Academy.

Speaking only Tibetan and Nepalese, nine year old Nagwang. entered public school where he learned English and became a distinguished student.

Three years later, Nagwang has won his second scholarship to the Usdan Center for the Performing Arts where he majors in violin and plays in the orchestra. Nagwang’s school nominated him to compete for Prep-For-Prep in 2010.
