Sharaza, 8-year-old cellist from Rwanda, studied at Mozart Academy for three years. Her father was then posted to Kenya to work on regional peace keeping.

Without a teacher Sharaza practiced the pieces she knew and performed at her new school. The children were so excited by her playing that they begged for lessons. Once Sharaza’s mother engaged a teacher, many of her classmates also began lessons.

Because instruments were unavailable in Kenya, Sharaza brought her cello to school each day to permit new students to practice. Sharaza, an exemplary Musical Ambassador, regales her peers with musical knowledge and stories of Mozart Academy in New York City.
